When I was working full-time, I had a career that required me to travel extensively. I only had to travel within the state I live so it was mostly by car. Spending a lot of time on the road required me to stay in lodging, sometimes 15 or more days out of the month.
As time went on I became highly sensitive to the cleaning products, soaps, lotions, shampoo and conditioners, and all other toiletries the lodging supplied. I became so susceptible I could detect if the person who had cleaned my room had been wearing perfume or cologne by the lingering scent they left behind.
I knew I had to do something to neutralize all the different scents I was hit with when I entered my lodging. Not to mention having to bring my additional toiletries to use during my stay. I spent a lot of time experimenting and researching companies and products. Finally, a friend introduced me to the doTERRA line of products.
To be brief, doTERRA is a company that produces essential oils as well as beauty, cleaning, and healthcare products that contain essential oils for both people who are sensitive like me and for people who want to promote healthy habits along with using the products. I started to use doTERRA when I traveled and I loved them so much that I used the products every chance I got.
It’s been 10 years, and long story short, I can honestly say I use these products every single day in one form or another whether it be to clean my house, the soaps and lotions I use, and the essential oils and vitamin supplements I take.
The reason I bring this up in my blog is that when Don and I decided to open up the Hideaway Tiny Cabin to the public, I wanted to provide a space using nontoxic, health-building products for people who were sensitive to harmful scents and chemicals. I feel the doTERRA products are the perfect fit. Very few rental establishments cater to people’s sensitivities and I wanted to be one of the ones who are a go-to for those people.
I’m going to outline some of the products that I will be using not only to clean and sanitize the cabin, but also the shampoo, conditioner, soap, dish soap, and cleaner that will be available for guests to use:
– WINDOW CLEANER –
This is probably one of the only cleaners that is not a doTERRA product, but I make this myself using rubbing alcohol, vinegar, distilled water, and doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil.
– MULTI-PURPOSE CLEANER –
abode Multi-Purpose Surface Cleaner Concentrate
– DISH SOAP –
– SHAMPOO –
– CONDITIONER –
– BODY WASH –
doTERRA spa Refreshing Body Wash
– HAND AND BODY LOTION –
doTERRA spa Hand & Body lotion
There is also a diffuser with some essential oils for your use during your stay.
I have been using the doTERRA products for almost 10 years and the health benefits I receive from them continue to amaze me. Full disclosure, I am a wellness advocate for the company and you can order products through me if you are interested. Again, my purpose is to provide a nontoxic healthy space for my guests to stay in and not to sell products but I wanted to be transparent. If you want to pursue more information about the company or the products you can do so here.
