Nestled among the stunning fall colors of the Upper Peninsula, this cozy cabin offers everything for two people to celebrate the holiday in a relaxed and intimate setting. Here’s what you can expect during your stay:

Day 1: Arrival and Thanksgiving Eve

Afternoon: Welcome and Cozy Setup

  • Check-In: Arrive at the Hideaway Tiny Cabin in the early afternoon, greeted by a cozy, fall-themed interior. The cabin is decorated with warm autumn colors, mini pumpkins, gourds, and Thanksgiving accents like garlands of fall leaves, cinnamon-scented candles, and cozy throw blankets.
  • Welcome Basket: Include a thoughtful basket of local and seasonal treats such as maple syrup, pumpkin spice cookies, and other seasonal treats.

Evening: Pre-Thanksgiving Relaxation

  • Bonfire & Warm Drinks: Set up the outdoor fire pit for a pre-Thanksgiving evening. Hot drink options such as apple cider with cinnamon sticks, hot cocoa, or spiced chai tea. Enjoy sipping your drinks while sitting by the fire and soaking in the crisp autumn air.
  • Thanksgiving Gratitude Journals: Write down what your grateful for in the journals provided.
  • Autumn Dessert Kit: A DIY dessert kit where you can make your own mini pumpkin pies, apple crisps, or cinnamon rolls. All the necessary ingredients with easy-to-follow instructions will be included.

Late Evening: Cozy Movie Night

  • Thanksgiving-Themed Movie: Movie night with Thanksgiving-themed films like “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” or “Planes, Trains & Automobiles.” There’ll be popcorn, cozy throws, and soft pillows for the perfect snuggle-up vibe at the cabin.

Day 2: Thanksgiving Day Feast and Nature Adventures

Morning: Slow Breakfast

  • Thanksgiving Breakfast Basket: Items for a simple yet delicious breakfast— cranberry muffins, apple butter, cinnamon rolls, or a fall-themed pancake mix with syrup. Enjoy your breakfast at a leisurely pace as you ease into your Thanksgiving Day.
  • Morning Gratitude Walk: Take a peaceful morning walk around the cabin property or a nearby nature trail. Write about taking in the beauty of nature and reflecting on the season of gratitude.  Trail information will be provided.
  • Midday: Thanksgiving Feast
  • DIY Thanksgiving Meal Kit: Since the cabin doesn’t have full cooking capabilities, we can provide a pre-prepared or simple-to-cook Thanksgiving meal kit with easy-to-prepare dishes such as a roast turkey breast, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a green bean casserole for an extra charge.  The cabin has a tabletop oven and induction burner for preparing your meal.  Or you can provide the meal.  If cooking isn’t your thing, more information will be provided later on what restaurants will be open locally.
  • Thanksgiving Table Setup: Thanksgiving-themed tableware (plates, napkins, and utensils) will be provided.

Afternoon: Post-Meal Relaxation

  • Nature Walk or Lake Visit: After your meal, we can recommend a nature walk at a nearby scenic spot, such as Erickson Center Park, where you can breathe in the fresh air and admire the fall colors.

Evening: Thanksgiving Games and Stargazing

  • Board Games & Cards: A selection of classic board games or card games for you to enjoy a fun, post-dinner activity.
  • Outdoor Stargazing: End the night with some peaceful stargazing and enjoy the autumn skies by the fire pit or outside the cabin.

Day 3: Departure with Gratitude

Morning: Farewell Breakfast

  • Simple Farewell Breakfast: Light breakfast before departure, such as fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, or pastries from a local bakery.
